Vernon gaming grants

Three social service organizations in Vernon have received a combined $150,000 in community gaming grants from the B.C. government.

They include:

  • North Okanagan Childcare and Montessori Preschool Society: $100,000
  • John Howard Society of the North Okanagan/Kootenay: $25,000
  • Independent Vernon Living Society: $25,000

“These organizations have for years provided important services to many people in Vernon and area,” Vernon-Monashee MLA Eric Foster said.

The gaming grant program allows non-profit organizations to apply for provincial gaming revenues.

Gaming grants are also awarded in the categories of public safety, sports and arts and culture, parent advisory councils and district parent advisory councils, and environment.

Organizations interested in applying for community gaming grants can find information and applications on the Web.
