Kal Lake water back on

The Kalamalka Lake water source is running through the taps of many Greater Vernon residents once again.

The pump station was closed Dec. 26 following a ground fault in the electrical system.

The North Okanagan Regional District reports the transformer and all components in the system were inspected, tested and fixed. Normal operations resumed Monday.

NORD staff say customers on the Kal Lake supply may notice a change in water quality, such as an increase in hardness.

They say this may be of interest to residents who have in-home water treatment systems or aquariums.
