$140k equipment theft

RCMP report a break and enter and major commercial theft at the Salmon Arm industrial park.

Officers were called in at 8:28 a.m. Monday to find a number of vehicles and equipment missing from the park, including a white 1995 International boom truck, a yellow 1989 Craig flat-deck trailer with a yellow 2012 John Deere D50 mini excavator on it.

Total value of the theft was estimated at $140,000.

Police say fresh snowfall indicated a number of people were involved and that the break-in and thefts had occurred sometime overnight.

The boom truck has since been located.
