The RCMP say the body of a missing woman was found by the Salmon Arm pier at Shuswap Lake late Monday night.
Staff Sgt. Scott West confirms the dead woman is Mildred Ekren who had gone missing from her residence in the area of 5th Street and 10th Avenue the morning of Dec. 7.
Salmon Arm RCMP with police dogs, local Search and Rescue teams and volunteers conducted an intensive search for the woman Monday.
West says a security guard spotted Ekren's body in the lake.
Police had expressed concern for Ekren's health and well-being following her disappearance as she had suffered from dementia.
Foul play is not suspected, say police.
The B.C. Coroner's Service is investigating.
