Downtown Vernon will be bustling Halloween day as hordes of young ghouls, goblins, princesses and super heroes make their way along the treat trail.
“Businesses are expecting a fun filled treat trail this year, with the event taking place on a Saturday,” said Hailey Rilkoff, events co-ordinator for the Downtown Vernon Association.
More than 60 businesses on 30 Avenue, side streets and in the Fruit Union Plaza will be handing out candy and treats for kids under 12 who will be out trick-or-treating.
Families can download a list of participants from the DVA's website, along with a printable treat trail map, said Rilkoff.
“The Vernon Vipers will be on hand and our event sponsor, Tolko, is excited see all the great costumes.”
Motorists are asked to slow down when driving through the downtown Saturday and to take extra caution in the community during the evening trick or treating around Vernon.
