Another suspicious truck fire

For the third time in less than a month, Vernon Fire Rescue were called to suspicious vehicle fire.

VFR Fire Chief Jack Blair said the call came in at 1:30 a.m. Monday.

When crews arrived they found the truck in the 3300 block of 35th Avenue in flames.

“The guys arrived on scene at the same time as the RCMP. They extinguished it and turned it over to the RCMP. It was suspicious,” said Blair. “I believe the RCMP were talking to someone who was near the scene.”

Police could not immediately be reached for comment, but they are investigating the incident.

On Oct. 14, fire crews were called to Davison Road where they extinguished three burning vehicles. Then on the 19th, they were called to Rising View Way where another truck was on fire.

All of the vehicle fires are deemed suspicious.
