No charges for lockdown

UPDATE OCT. 20

Vernon RCMP say no charges will be laid following the short lockdown at W.L. Seaton Secondary on Monday.

ORIGINAL

Students at a Vernon high school were under a brief lockdown, Monday.

School Supt. Joe Rogers said W.L. Seaton Secondary was under lockdown for 10 minutes after two adults on the school's sports field were considered a possible threat.

“So we brought the kids in and locked the school down. The police came and picked the guys up, and that was it.”

Rogers said the two unidentified men were having an argument in the sports field.

“They were threatening each other, so we removed all the kids and locked down until the RCMP picked them up,” said Rogers. “I think the school followed the proper protocol – safety first.”
