Fire engulfs motorhome

A motorhome was completely destroyed by an aggressive and quick-moving blaze yesterday afternoon in Lumby.

The Lumby Fire Department was called to the scene on Dyfferin Road behind the industrial park just before 4 p.m.

Fire chief Tony Clayton says the motorhome was entirely engulfed when crews arrived.

He says a resident of the property was protecting outbuildings with a garden hose when they arrived on the scene.

Clayton says the motorhome itself is a total write-off.

The owners of the motorhome did have insurance and Clayton says they do not believe the fire is suspicious in nature.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Fortunately no one was hurt in the fire and no pets or animals were trapped inside.
