Vernon RCMP are investigating an incident of gunfire on East Hill.
In a statement released Friday, police said they were called to a townhouse complex on the 1600 block of 43 Avenue at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday.
There had been a confrontation in the parking lot of the complex that resulted in shots being fired. Police said they did not locate any injured people as a result of the shooting.
Police arrested and have since released a number of people believed to have been in the confrontation with another unidentified group. That group left the scene in a dark-coloured vehicle before police arrived.
Police executed a search warrant Thursday at the townhouse where the incident took place.
Police believe the two groups were known to each other and their confrontation was connected to involvement in criminal activity.
The investigation is ongoing, as police try to identify the second group.
