A man was taken into custody after a bizarre road incident in Vernon Wednesday.
RCMP spokesperson Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy said Vernon police received a call from Lake Country RCMP about an erratic driver heading north.
Noseworthy said Vernon officers started to head south when they saw the suspect's white pickup and pulled it over at the intersection of Highway 97 and 25th Avenue.
“The front end had extensive damage. He hit the median, and he hit numerous other vehicles,” said Noseworthy.
Noseworthy said the exact number of vehicles struck is not yet known, and police are continuing their investigation.
Police have not released the man's name.
“Fortunately, no one was injured, but we did have quite a few vehicles that were damaged,” Noseworthy said.
As of Wednesday afternoon, no charges had been laid, but the man was in custody.
