Vernon drivers might want to plan their route around several road work projects in the city.
Crews are installing a water main near the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and 48th Avenue through Oct. 31. The BC Transit bench on the southeast corner of the intersection is being temporarily relocated out of the work zone during construction, from Thursday morning to Friday afternoon.
Single-lane traffic patterns will be in effect during construction.
Crews from Shaw Cable have started work along Fleming Road, and at 34th Avenue and 12th Street to install new cable conduits. Expect minor traffic disruptions at these locations between Sept. 11 and 18.
City crews will be working along 20th Street from Deleenheer Road to 55th Avenue between Sept. 14 and Oct. 8. Single-lane alternating traffic will be in place.
And crews are expected to complete the installation of storm and water services at 35th Avenue and 27th Street (near Bearsto School and the future Tim Hortons site) by the end of Friday.
From 7 to 11 a.m. a complete road closure will be required, and single-lane traffic will be in place after 11 a.m.
