Injured ATV rider airlifted

A B.C. Ambulance Service helicopter had to be called in after an ATV rider was injured near Becker Lake, Sunday.

Apparently, the rider was hurt and trapped under the ATV. Someone else freed him, John Angard told Castanet.

“The pilot did an excellent job landing in a very tough spot – trees on one side and power lines on the other,” Angard said.

Neither the condition of the rider nor the extent of the person's injuries is known at this time.

Becker Lake is several kilometres up Noble Canyon Road, about 20 minutes east of Vernon.

It is a popular area for off-road enthusiasts with countless kilometres of trails to ride.
