Federal Election 2015

Youth encouraged to vote

JCI Vernon wants young people to get informed and get out and vote.

A national election has been called for Oct. 19 and JCI Vernon has teamed up with the Vernon Students Association at Okanagan College to host a youth and young adult-focused all candidates forum Sept. 25.

Citizens who are at least 18-years-old on election day are eligible to vote and the JCI Vernon and the VSAOC want to educate and empower local youth to exercise their right to vote.

It is JCI Vernon’s mandate to provide opportunities for young individuals, and create positive change through those opportunities.

All four major party candidates have been invited to participate in the forum that will be held at the Kalamalka Campus of Okanagan College, 7000 College Way.

Doors open at 5 p.m., with discussions beginning promptly at 6 p.m. While the event is free to attend, donations to the local food bank are encouraged.
