Lumby top cop retires

Lumby’s ranking officer is hanging up the holster after 37 years as a Mountie. 

Cpl. Henry Proce has been detachment commander in the Village for eight years and will work his last shift on May 22.

“It’s been a pleasure to work in this community and to end my career on such a high note. Thank you to all the community partners and individuals that have shown this detachment so much support during my time here,” said Proce. 

Cpl. Trevor Tribes will be transferring in from the major crime section in Vernon to take over duties in Lumby and surrounding area.

Proce served as the media relations officer in Vernon before taking the Lumby command.
