Dual home invasions

Police in Vernon are investigating two home invasions.

Friday morning, about 7:30 a.m., RCMP received reports of two separate incidents of home invasion on opposite sides of the city.

Details are few at this point, said North Okanagan RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk, but both cases are under investigation.

In both incidents, unknown persons entered the residences, and police have no suspects or descriptions yet.

The first invasion was on the 3900 block of 32 Street, on the main highway through the city, and the second on the 3900 block of 27 Avenue, near downtown.

Residents were present at both locations, and the occupants suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine if the two incidents are related.

RCMP believe the incidents were not random in nature and were targeted at specific residences known to the suspects.
