RCMP had another busy weekend nabbing speeders between Vernon and Winfield.
Officers from both North and Central Okanagan Traffic Services combined their efforts to impound eight vehicles for excessive speeding and hand out 50 tickets.
They set up two separate speed traps within five kilometres of each other Saturday afternoon.
"Drivers who thought they were free and clear to exceed the speed limit when they passed one speed operation were in for a bit of surprise when ... they ran into the second speed control operation," Vernon RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk said in a press release.
That follows another eight vehicles being impounded on the same stretch of Highway 97 above Wood Lake last weekend.
Molendyk said "Traffic Services officers are asking drivers to slow down – it is not a raceway!"
