City's Good Citizen named

Bernie Strachan is Vernon's Good Citizen of the Year.

Strachan was recognized with the honour at the Vernon Winter Carnival Breakout Luncheon on Wednesday.

Nominated by Dr. Terri Mckay, Strachan served 40 years with the Vernon Swim Club, 15 years with Community Policing in addition to years of contributions to Trinity United Church and Camp Hurlburt.

Presenting the award is Sue Solymosi, president of the Vernon chapter of Junior Chamber International. 

Vernon Winter Carnival events continue throughout the city until Sunday.
