A special committee of the whole took place in Vernon on Monday as both mayor and council met to work on setting out priorities for the next four years.
The group began with a planning session where Mayor Akbal Mund and councillors reviewed their election platforms and attempted to reflect on what they’d like their accomplishments to be at the end of their term in 2018.
Directors also presented their administration proposals for council consideration, including strategic priorities for the next four years.
KPMG, the company that audits for the city, also provided a report on the current financial situation. These various financial indicators such as assets, debts, revenues and tax burdens were also compared to several other BC municipalities, but the City of Vernon did not release any specific details.
