Suspicious fire at restaurant

RCMP in Vernon are investigating another suspicious fire in the city.

The latest blaze broke out at the New Delhi Restaurant on 29th Street, shortly before 4 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Police spokesman Gord Molendyk says investigators from both the RCMP and the local fire department are working together in an effort to determine the cause.

"Nothing has been ruled out yet," says Molendyk.

"The fire origin appears suspicious in nature and they continue to investigate it."

Molendyk adds the sprinkler system had gone off so there is both fire and water damage to the building.

The city has been hit with a string of arsons over the past several months.

RCMP have yet to publicly link any of the fires together.

No arrests have been made.
