Truck stealing spree

Ford F-series trucks were the target of an apparent joy-ride in Falkland Thursday.

According to North Okanagan RCMP, four trucks were targeted in the spree, three were stolen and one was broken into.

RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk says it appears someone or a group of people were going on a sort of joyride. They would steal a truck, drive it around for a bit, dump it and then steal another.

It was reported that one of the vehicles that was broken into belonged to a disabled driver and the thief or thieves chose to leave it behind when they saw the truck's special customization. Instead, they went next-door and stole the neighbour's truck.

Two of the three stolen trucks have been recovered while police look for the third.

No arrests have been made but Molendyk says they are actively investigating the situation and are trying to find those responsible.
