Murder charges have been laid in connection with Monday's nights shooting death in Penticton.
Michaell Russel Myers, 23, of Penticton has been charged with 2nd degree murder in the death of Michael Cutillo, 19, also of Penticton.
Penticton RCMP have also recovered a firearm, believed related to the investigation.
Cutillo died Monday night as a result of a gunshot wound. The incident took place in a back alley between Ellis and Main Streets downtown.
Myers made his first court appearance Tuesday afternoon. He remains in custody in Penticton. He is expected to be transferred to the Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre within the next few days.
Penticton RCMP say Myers and Cutillo knew each other, and were both known to RCMP.
Penticton RCMP are continuing their investigation and are still asking people with knowledge of the incident to come forward.
