Haslam inquest postponed

A coroners inquest into the death of a Lumby man has been postponed.

The BC Coroners Service says it has postponed the inquest into the death of Bradley Michael Thomas Haslam.

The inquest was originally scheduled to begin March 31, at the courthouse in Vernon.

It has been postponed to allow for a full and fair review of recently received additional material concerning the incident in which Mr. Haslam died.

The inquest arises out of an industrial accident which occurred on June 15, 2013. Mr. Haslam, aged 18, of Lumby, was killed while working at a planer mill in Lavington.

A new date for the inquest will be determined as soon as practicable.

An inquest is a formal process that allows for public presentation of evidence relating to a death.
