Break-in suspects caught red handed

Two Vernon men, one on parole, were caught red handed shortly after breaking into a vehicle on 28A Street.

On March 16, 2014 at about 10:30 p.m. police responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle in the area.

"The person who called police advised that two males with black and white hoodies broke into the vehicle and then headed west on 37th St.," explained RCMP Spokesman Gord Molendyk.

The police officer who responded noticed two men matching the description of the suspects near 27th St. and Hwy. 6.

The two were detained by the officer while the dog unit tracked from the crime scene to confirm they had just come from there.

One of the suspects, a 24-year-old Vernon resident, was on parole and in breach of his conditions.

The file is still being investigated by the RCMP, further charges could be laid.
