Broken pipe dampens library

The Okanagan Regional Library in Vernon found itself in some cold water on Monday after a pipe burst and flooded a portion of the building.

It happened around 6:30 p.m., near the outdoor book return bins. The break sent gallons of water spilling into various sections of the library.

Restoration crews have been on site while the water is mopped up and walls are dried out.

The branch foyer will reopen Thursday morning on a limited basis for book returns and hold pick-ups, but all programs are cancelled for the reminder of the week.

More information can be found on the library’s website.
