Sep 30, 2013 / 9:55 am
RCMP in Salmon Arm are looking for a man in his 20's in connection with a disturbing incident at a playground last week.
Police say children had been playing on playground equipment at the Little Mountain Sports Field during the day on Thursday, Sept 26 when they noticed a man seated in a vehicle in the parking lot adjacent to the field on 30th Street SE.
The man was masturbating and looking in the direction of the children.
He did not attempt to contact the children.
The incident was not reported to parents until later in the evening. Police patrols failed to turn up the vehicle.
The man is described as Caucasian, 20 to 30 years of age with brown hair. He was clean shaven.
He was wearing red plaid shorts at the time.
The vehicle is described as a four door cream coloured sedan.
Anyone with information on the individual or the incident is asked to contact the Salmon Arm Detachment of the RCMP.

Police are also reminding people to be wary after a local man got caught in a common telephone scam.
The man received a call sometime late last week from a person in Ontario claiming to be a lawyer.
The caller stated the man's son was in an accident and needed $2,000 bail money to be wired for his release from police custody.
The man discovered the claim to be untrue only after the money had been sent.
At 1 p.m. Saturday, police in Salmon Arm stopped a vehicle on the Trans Canada Highway east of the city.
A 49-year-old Salmon Arm resident was found to be intoxicated by drugs. The driver was in possession of crack cocaine and did not possess a valid driver's licence.
The vehicle was impounded and the driver was arrested.
