Thieves target $600 parkas & drugs
Sep 19, 2013 / 2:49 pm
Vernon RCMP were kept busy with not one, but two break-ins early Thursday morning.
The first Break and Enter occurred about 3:40 a.m. at Nolan's Pharmacy at 3101 30 Avenue.
Officers responded to an alarm at the pharmacy and confirmed upon arrival a force break in had occurred.
"The target of this Break and Enter was prescription drugs," says RCMP spokesman, Gord Molendyk.
"At this time it is unknown exactly what was taken and/or quantities."
Molendyk says police are working to determine if video surveillance is available to assist in the investigation.
Two hours later a second business, True Outdoors at 5100 Anderson Way, was broken into.
"Thieves forced the front door open, and once inside they stole numerous Canada Goose Arctic line men's and women's parkas in various colours," says Molendyk.
"These parkas start in price at $600 and up resulting in a significant loss to the store."
Molendyk says there are reports a grey sedan may have been involved in the break in at True Outdoors.
There is no evidence at this time to suggest the same group of thieves were responsible for both break ins.
If you have any information about either of these crimes, please contact the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171 or Crime Stoppers.
