Female racer ready to roll in Vernon
Sep 6, 2013 / 11:57 am
After being absent from the driver’s seat all season long, Sarah Cornett-Ching will make her season debut on September 14 for the ASA OK Tire Series season finale at Motoplex Speedway in Vernon.
Cornett-Ching is no stranger to the half-mile tri-oval, racing several events over the past two seasons with the ASA and ARCA West Series, and she also made her NASCAR Canadian Tire Series debut at this same track in 2011.
Sarah has been out of the car all season long, taking time off from racing to further her career as a welder. She hopes to end 2013 with a solid effort in the ASA race at Vernon and plans to be back full time in 2014.
“I am very excited about getting back behind the wheel next weekend at Motoplex Speedway”, said Cornett-Ching. “It will be very special as I will also be racing against my Dad. It has been tough not being in the car all year, so I am very eager to return next week”.
Sarah will return to her Penticton home early next week to begin preparing her car that has been in storage since the end of last season.
The team would like to thank all of their sponsors and supporters and are very excited about what is in store for next weekend as well as 2014.
