Sep 2, 2013 / 10:41 am
More than $10,000 in cash and prizes were awarded to competitors at the Freeride Festival at Silver Star over the weekend. The festival featured a two day bike event packed with dirt jumps, bike demos, a family fun village race, a chainless bike race and village vendors.
Vancouver's Anthony Messere took first place and $1000, edging out Kelowna riders Tom van Steenbergen and Noah Brousseau who took second and third place.
A part of the Freestyle Mountain Bike World Tour for the first time, the Silver Style Jump Jam competitors competed for points towards to overall FMB World Tour Championships.
There was also a “Cash Grab” awarded by the announcer in increments of $5-$20 for “wowing” the crowd with big tricks, crashes or outstanding humour.
