Police in the North Okanagan have seen what they are calling “a considerable spike” in the number of drunk drivers being caught between Lavington and Cherryville.
Last weekend they detained six people for impaired driving along Highway 6, with each person given an immediate roadside suspension – which comes with a 90-day driving prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impound.
Another four drivers blew a “warning” on roadside breathalyzer tests and faced three day suspensions.
