One arrested for truck theft
One man has been arrested after a truck was stolen in Falkland Thursday night.
Sgt Greg Dickie with the Vernon RCMP said police were involved in a short chase after trying to pull a man over in a pickup truck near Vernon.
The man had apparently stolen the truck from a currently unknown location in Falkland and took off on foot when RCMP tried to stop the vehicle.
The RCMP helicopter came in to assist, which Dickie said was unusual for this type of call.
"There may have been some reason they were out already," he said.
The truck has now been recovered.
An RCMP K9 unit was also involved in the arrest.
