Weekend accidents

A couple of accidents kept Salmon Arm RCMP busy over the weekend.

Early Friday morning, Aug 8, RCMP were told about a vehicle down an embankment off Sunnybrae Canoe Point Road.

Police arrived on the scene at 8 a.m. and were able to climb down to the vehicle.

“No one was found within,” says Sgt. Kevin Keane. “Contact was made with the owner who advised us that he had lost control the night prior.”

He was apparently not seriously hurt in the crash.

The next day on Aug 9 at 11 a.m. a collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 1 and 30th Street NE.

“A vehicle making a left hard turn failed to yield to oncoming traffic,” explains Keane.

He says the vehicle turned directly into the path of a motorcycle traveling westbound on the highway.

The motorcyclist and the driver along with the passenger of the car were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
