Skier killed on Sugar Lake
UPDATE 4:30 JULY 4:
The BC Coroner has identified the woman who died following a water-skiing incident on Sugar Lake near Cherryville on July 1.
46-year-old Brenda Lee Roine of Coldstream was water-skiing with family members on the afternoon of July 1 when she fell.
She was found unconscious in the water and quickly recovered from the lake and rushed to shore by family and friends.
Ambulance rushed her to the hospital but she died en-route before reaching the hospital in Vernon.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.

A 46-year-old Coldstream woman is dead following a water skiing accident on Sugar Lake.
The incident occurred early Canada Day evening.
Police say the woman was being towed behind a boat operated by her husband. Several family members were acting as spotters.
The woman fell into the water and was found to be unconscious when she was pulled out.
Family members began CPR while the woman was being transported to shore and in the family vehicle while en route to meet EMS.
The victim was transported to Vernon Jubilee Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police say alcohol was not a factor.
Investigation has been handed over to the BC Coroners Service. The RCMP will assist in the investigation.
In another tragic boating accident a young boy was seriously injured near Vernon over the weekend.
