Vernon seeks input for parks

The City of Vernon is still seeking feedback from the public for the development of a parks master plan.

In the coming months the city is holding meetings with stakeholders to better understand the needs that will help guide the future of Vernon's parks.

The city is also asking local residents to provide support for the plan by submitting photos or becoming a park ambassador.

"We want to see what you love about Vernon parks and your pictures say a thousand words," said city planner Cleo Corbett. "We are also looking for volunteers to become park ambassadors to periodically monitor and observe local parks over the next few months."

Ambassadors will be asked to attend a one hour training session and will be given tools to monitor how the park is being used, what is working and what could be improved.

To find out more about becoming a park ambassador or to submit a photo that could be featured in the parks master plan or to promote Vernon parks, please email [email protected]
