Synthetic drug lab bust

A reported gunshot spurred police into taking down a suspected drug lab near Enderby.

RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk says RCMP had been conducting an investigation on the rural property located in the 3800 block of Trinity Valley Rd for several months when they received a report of shots fired in the area.

“Our officers responded and five suspects were taken into custody, three men and two women,” said Molendyk. “They are expected to appear in court later today to face charges of production of a synthetic drug, stolen property and firearms offences.”

He says RCMP remain on the scene while specialized police units and government environmental agencies conduct their investigation of the property.

Adding that the property was a well chosen secluded property far from the main road.

“At this time we believe there is no danger or risk to the public from this property,” added Molendyk.

Police anticipate it will take several days to complete the investigation and clean up the scene.
