Show lounge brawl
Two Vernon RCMP officers, who were already in a bar for an unrelated incident, were able to break up a brawl before things got too heated.
Shortly before midnight on April 9, a fight broke out between several patrons of the On The Roxx Show Lounge on 32 Ave in Vernon.
“The fight started in front of the bar. The doorman/security was attempting to break the fight up between two patrons when one picked up a stool and struck the doorman on the head,” said RCMP Spokesman Gord Molendyk.
Molendyk says officers were already at the establishment investigating an unrelated matter and were immediately able to bring the disturbance under control.
Two people were taken into custody for the disturbance.
“After speaking to several other patrons and bar staff one of the men, a 24-year-old from the Westside Road area, was held for intoxication and released with no charges,” said Molendyk.
“The 34-year-old suspect who allegedly swung the stool was released Friday morning on a Promise to Appear on assault charges.”
The bouncer who was hit on the head by the barstool was taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital and received medical attention and stitches for the injuries to his head.
