Safeway gas bar robbery

Vernon RCMP are on the hunt for a masked man after a robbery Monday afternoon.

On March 31 at about 4:50 p.m. officers received a report of a robbery at the Safeway Gas bar at 4300 32nd Street.

“A lone male entered the business with his face covered and demanded money. The clerk complied and the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money from the till. The suspect was last seen heading south from the gas bar,” says RCMP Spokesman Gord Molendyk.

RCMP says the suspect is described as being about 6’ tall; thin build, with short brown hair. He was wearing a grey hoodie, dark pants possibly sweats and possibly white shoes.

Molendyk says the police are asking anyone who might have seen a person matching the description in the area, or if anyone has any information, to please call the Vernon detachment at 250-545-7171 or remain anonymous and call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
