Vernon boy killed in crash

A young boy from Vernon has been identified as the youth who died in a traffic accident near Lytton last week.

Dante Tiberius Darkazanli, 15, was a passenger in an SUV on Feb. 21 that was part of a four-vehicle crash on Highway 1.

The accident happened around 11:30 a.m., approximately 25 kilometres east of Lytton.

Darkazanli was found deceased at the scene.

The highway was closed for several hours as crews worked to extinguish a tanker truck that had burst into flames.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate.
