Valentine's Day safe crackers

Thieves broke into the Quonset hut at the Lumby landfill during the Valentine's weekend and walked away with a small wall safe.

RCMP believe the theft occurred sometime overnight between Feb. 14-15.

The suspects pried open an exterior door and then cut the lock off an inside door to gain entry.

The safe contained an unknown quantity of cash and officers are now asking for the public’s assistance.

Anyone with knowledge of the crime is asked to contact the Lumby RCMP or Crimestoppers.
