Vernon RCMP - are these your keys?

The North Okanagan RCMP has a collection of stolen keys they found on a Vernon man, and now they're hoping to return them to their rightful owners.

On Feb. 18, members of the Vernon RCMP Task Force arrested a 29-year-old male suspect who is well known to them.

He had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest after uttering threats.

“While our officers were dealing with the suspect, a number of items suspected of being stolen were seized. Some of those items were 22 sets of keys as well as other identifiable items belonging to other people, and a small quantity of drugs,” explained RCMP Spokesman Gord Molendyk.

The police are asking the public to call them if anyone has been a victim of theft where keys were stolen.

They have several photographs of all of the recovered keys at the Vernon RCMP Detachment. You can attend the front counter and look at them during regular working hours 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

If you recognize your keys in the photograph please contact Cst. Woon or Cst. Audley at (250) 545-7171.
