Repeat offender back in custody

RCMP officers in the Lumby/Cherryville area had hoped things would quiet down after they arrested 32-year-old Ryan Tyler Young last month following a spike in petty crime and vehicle thefts.

Young was taken into custody and charged with numerous offenses by Vernon Crown Counsel. He was later released on strict conditions, but two weeks later more complaints of thefts arose from the same area.

On Jan. 13 Young was arrested once again after a vehicle was reported stolen from the intersection of Hurt and Mable Lake Road.  Young has now been charged with two counts of Theft of Motor Vehicle and has been remanded into custody at the Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre.
