Vernon and North Okanagan News
RCMP are trying to piece together just what happened - and why- at a home on Commonage Crescent in Vernon Sunday evening.
Police were summoned to the residence in the 3700 block by a caller who said a group of men entered the home with a gun.
The caller further stated people were also seen running out of the home.
RCMP spokesman, Gord Molendyk, says police spoke to the residents and discovered a 28-year-old man had been targeted.
Molendyk says the victim, who was known to police, had been bear sprayed.
"The victim provided a statement, but did not provide any information to police to further their investigation," says Molendyk.
"Officers seized bear spray and other items that were lying around in the residence. At this time we are not able to confirm there was a gun involved."
Molendyk says the attack does not appear to be random - all parties involved appear to know each other.
