Hit and run sends SUV into yard

A chain reaction crash on icy roads caused two vehicles to end up in a front yard early Boxing Day.

A driver of one of the vehicles that ended up in the yard says the crash was caused when a third vehicle hit the backend of a Mustang traveling north bound on Alexis Park. The impact forced the Mustang into the south bound lane, where it collided head-on with a Nissan Exterra. The force of the impact sent both vehicles over hedges and into the front yard of a home on Alexis Park Drive.

The driver of the Nissan says the third driver fled the scene, leaving him and the driver of the Mustang to talk to police.

The accident happened at around 6:25 a.m.

If you witnessed the crash you are asked to call the Vernon RCMP.
