Stolen goods & drugs seized; 3 arrested

Vernon RCMP have two men in custody following a raid on a home in the 2700 block of 35 Street Thursday.

Police were issued a warrant after residents and business owners in the area were concerned about the high volume of traffic coming and going in the area.

Numerous people were inside the residence when police arrived.

A 31-year-old Vernon man was arrested on a trafficking warrant that stemmed from the last undercover operation that was conducted in September.

He will also be facing new charges of possession cocaine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession prohibited weapon and possession of a weapon contrary to a Court Order Prohibition, he has been held for court.

A second man - a 29-year-old who also lived there as well - arrived while officers were still in the residence and was arrested.  He is expected to face charges of possession of stolen property found that was recovered in the residence. He was released on a Promise to Appear.

A third man 28 years of age was arrested and released for violating court ordered prohibition and was found in possession of a prohibited weapon.

A 17-year-old female was taken from the residence and turned over to her parents.

Several other people at the house were released without any charges. Also seized in the house was trafficking paraphernalia and approximately $1,000 cash.

Vernon police are continuing to investigate this file and further charges are possible.

"This is another example of how Vernon Detachment takes complaints from the citizens and local businesses seriously and are committed to investigating drug trafficking at all levels," says Sgt Dave Evans.
