Icy roads keep Salmon Arm RCMP busy
Salmon Arm cops had a busy crash filled day on Sunday.
First at 11:45 a.m. RCMP were called to an icy road crash on 50th street NE. A truck had lost control and rolled into the ditch. Both the driver and passenger were okay.
Fifteen minutes later police responded to another icy road accident on 22nd Street N.E. A vehicle apparently took the corner too fast sliding across a residential lawn and striking a vehicle parked in the driveway. No injuries were reported.
At 1:15 p.m. the ice struck again causing a two vehicle collision on Hwy. 97B and Auto Road. Police say the northbound vehicle lost control and crossed the centre line causing the near head on collision.
Everyone was taken to hospital with unknown injuries. Both vehicles were damaged beyond driveability.
Police say the vehicle that lost control only had warn summer tires and the driver was charged with operating an improperly equipped vehicle.
