Vernon and North Okanagan
Rash of commercial B & Es continue
Oct 28, 2013 / 3:27 pm
Vernon businesses are being hammered by several break-and-enters in recent weeks, and last week was no exception.
Two companies were targeted and in both cases the assailants ran off before police arrived.
Shortly before 5 a.m. October 28, Vernon RCMP responded to a commercial alarm in the 1000 block of Waddington Dr.
Police arrived on the scene and found a hole cut in the fence and 11 Bridgestone Blizzak tires scattered outside the fence.
Suspects had fled the scene prior to police arrival and it is unknown at this time whether any tires had been taken.
Later that same morning, at 6:20 another commercial break & enter was reported in the 4700 block of 29th St.
A resident of the building reported hearing the sound of a door being kicked in and called the police, when the resident went downstairs to the business the suspects fled in a vehicle, unfortunately no description was obtained.
The suspects had kicked in the front door & stole approximately $40 worth of loonies and toonies.
Vernon RCMP Forensic Identification Section has been called in both cases, police are asking public to report any suspicious activity that they may have seen in the Waddington Drive area (Kosmino Industrial Park) Sunday night or early Monday morning.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Vernon RCMP or Call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
