Summer's End...Rockers' Begin
Sep 6, 2013 / 7:00 pm
As Summer cools down, around the Jesus Krysler camp-activities are heating up! This Vancouver Rock Trio are set to travel across Canada to select cities showcasing their new album; “Rock N’ Roll: What’s That”! September is the official month of release for this aural adventure. The group will land in Ontario and other points east, before they return to the West Coast for some timely dates. The group is also enjoying some major airplay on local and regional stations, plus the album is available on I-tunes.
Everyone must know now the unfortunate news of Dan McCafferty of Nazareth, whom collapsed at a show in Cranbrook in July. Well, the same thing happened in August in Europe, forcing the lead singer to retire from performing. According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Dan suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and cannot sing in live performances for any great length of time. However, not all is bad news…Nazareth can continue to record, working on their planned new album, with Dan contributing. Now, here’s an example of how humble this man really is: Dan hopes the group will continue to perform without him, as he feels the music they have written over the years is more important than any one member! Good on you, Mr. McCafferty….and we hope you will recover fully!
Canada’s own “Coney Hatch” will be releasing a brand new album; “Four” later this month! This being the group’s first album of new material in well over twenty years!
Now, here is a mouth full! “Ultralive Ballisticrock”!! That is the name from the legendary Motor City Mad Man…Ted Nugent himself! What a way to start Roctober, with The Nuge…whom is re-united with Derek St. Holmes, plus ex-Rainbow bassist Greg Smith and Dokken’s drummer Mick Brown! Early October will see this CD/DVD package hit the music shops; of course “Cat Scratch Fever” will be one of the performances!!
I had the pleasure recently of interviewing Def Leppard…talking about the upcoming “Viva! Hysteria” CD/DVD package! Another live performance taken from the group’s March 2013 stint in Las Vegas, when they performed the astounding “Hysteria” album in its entirety—and then some! Trust me, this is a package that you will want to get your hands on!! Out in Roctober-who would’ve thought! October 22nd to be precise!!
So, this week I’ll leave you with “Coney Hatch” and enjoy!
