They're Here... Almost
Jul 13, 2012 / 7:00 am
They Are Almost Here, those feisty Rockers that promise to put on a musical extravaganza like the Okanogan has not seen before - I’m talking about Sturgis North II, in Vernon!
We all know the great line-up of Rock N’ Roll heroes that are going to light up the sky, and fill the valley with thunder, or do we?
Yes, a great line-up will appear from July 18th to the 22nd, however there is more! The ‘Opening Acts’, those aspiring and seasoned musicians that set the mood for the Headliners, the ones that will surprise even the veteran concert goer!
Danica Danielsen, A British Columbia small town girl is just one of these surprising talented Artists that will be an ‘Opening Act’. She is a very passionate Singer and one that will surely knock you over!
James Shepherd is a hard driving Blues-rock guitarist, with a high energy band that will be hard to follow. I pity those that have to perform after.
A unique group of Canadian Rock heroes, The Snake Oil Sinners will also be hitting the stage sometime during the Sturgis North event. Now, these musicians are veterans. They’ve been there, done it, and ripped the T-shirt! Members from Sass Jordan, Saga, Harlequin and more, will leave you breathless after they leave the stage.
And then there is Jasmine Cain, a native of, who would’ve thought: Sturgis, North Dakota! Jasmine is an award winning Rock vocalist, and independent recording Artist. Steeped in the North American motorcycle culture, this gal should be headlining! Three albums in, and she is set to explode the world of Rock Music.
Another unique group is the Farrell Webber Band. This is a multi-tribute band. The group will play tribute to several different Rock groups; such as ‘Bad Company’, ‘The Eagles’ and ‘The Doobie Brothers’ Founding member, Farrell Webber is a man of a ‘thousand voices’, and has been the lead singer and guitarist for “Houses Of The Holy”, “Straightshooter” and has played with Ken Hensley’s Uriah Heep. This show should cover a vast spectrum of masterful music from the late sixties right up to the 1990’s!
Now, there are more ‘Opening Acts’, such as : Fear Zero and Stampede Queen. All will be featured at the 2nd Annual Sturgis North Festival in Vernon and all are of the same high calibre as this year’s fantastic featured acts. This valley is gonna do some serious rocking, come July 18th, and all in Vernon!!
