They call themselves the “4th Dimension”, an Italian Progressive Rock band that are dedicated to the enduring Progressive/Symphonic style of music. Their musical meanderings are epically majestic! In part, here is what has been said about their second effort, “Dispelling The Veil Of Illusions”…”Knowing that 4th Dimension was founded by a vocalist and keyboardist—both steeped in powerful Melodic Rock-one’s expectations reach the upper echelons of hearing majestic, epic musical journeys. This release is the group’s second effort and those expectations are totally fulfilled!” A five piece, “4th Dimension are signed to a strong independent label, PowerProg, and if you are a Progressive Rocker, then you are in for an aural delight! The group’s first album, “The White Path To Rebirth” was released five years ago, and they have been writing and re-writing this album over the last five years. Meticulously performed and produced, their current effort displays their high standard of craftsmanship and their extraordinary Talents as musicians! “Dispelling The Veil Of Illusions” is definitely worth seeking out! Another interesting and very talented group is “Estate”, a quintet from Russia that create and perform a huge and expansive sound! Marrying Russian folklore with Razor-sharp Metal, “Fantasia” will simply rock you out! From the Mighty label, and available at reputable on-line music sites, and possibly at some of the areas Speciality Music stores—“Estate”—‘Fantasia’…
Now, here are some albums worth watching out for!
WHITESNAKE—“The Purple Album”: David Coverdale and his band of hard-core Blues-Rock friends have put together a scorcher this time! And, you guessed it—these are numbers from his ‘Purple days! Now, not just a re-visit to these Deep Purple classics, but they have been “Whitesnake-ized”!! We must remember, though, this is where David started—with the wizards of “Deep Purple”, and now forty plus years on, he is revitalising these standards, and reinterpreting them! “Whitesnake” is preparing to tour this album, introducing new guitarist, Joel Hoekstra as well!
They were an iconic family in America, Ozzie and Harriet Nelson—from their 1950’s television series to their son’s legendary tenure in Rock, and now, the present day twins-Matthew and Gunnar are the foundation of today’s “Nelson”. Just an aside, but a significant one—the American Nelson family are the only family in the American entertainment business that have three generations of #1 hitmakers in the music business! This album is certainly going to continue that accomplishment! Nelson-“Peace Out” hits the streets in mid-May!!
As I wrote in the last “Under The Lights”…2015 may just be the year for “The Answer”!! These Irish blues-masters are about to “Raise A Little Hell”, their new album hitting the streets now! The album certainly is a hell raiser, and should give this group the boost they need to break out big time! Absolutely worth seeking out plus…look out for a DVD release of their concert appearance from 2014’s “Crossroads” Festival from the German music show Rockpalast!—if you want to catch a glimpse of the 21st Century ‘Led Zeppelin’—this is it!!
