Heart & Soul

It was recently announced that two visionary veteran Rock groups will be touching down right here in Kelowna in the next few months!  Currently continuing their “Fanatic” tour, Ann and Nancy Wilson will grace the Prospera Place with their long standing group “Heart”!  Recently signed to a worldwide recording contract with Frontiers Records, Heart continues to tour their latest album “Fanatic”—a critically acclaimed ‘back to form’ album.

“Live From Caesars Colosseum”-a visual document taken from a recent visit to Windsor, Ontario…will be released this month showcasing the group at their peak.  The DVD/CD package contains songs from “Fanatic” and, of course, their massive back catalogue.  The 2014 version of the “Fanatic” tour will see some newer material being performed, and with the Kelowna show—a very special guest in Jason Bonham-son of Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham!  Speaking of which, Jason has joined forces with Glenn Hughes and singer/guitarist, Andrew Watts.  The new power trio is called “California Breed”.   Now, I’m not sure if this new group will be on tour with “Heart” or if Jason is making a Special Appearance and doing a tribute with “Heart” on “Led Zeppelin”.  Either- or, it will be an outstanding concert at Prospera Place!

Incidentally, “California Breed” has also been signed to Frontiers Records, and by the time “Heart” hit the valley, their debut will be on the streets!

Another exciting group will be visiting Kelowna…”Collective Soul” are about to unleash their  eighth studio album, and will be performing material from this record when they touchdown here!  The group did take a little hiatus, with Ed Roland forming a side project with some musical friends from his home city of Atlanta, but now-the group have got back together and currently are in the studio!  This Spring and Summer will see the group touring across North America playing large clubs and concert venues.

Another veteran group is set to release their latest in March.  “Asia”, with John Wetton and Geoff Downes, will release “Gravitas”-featuring the group’s new guitarist: Sam Coulson.  The album is a concept piece that will showcase the fine talents of all the members.  This one may well be “Asia” at their best!  Look for it on March 25th in a record store nearby!
