Okanagan Energy Diet: Part 1
Sep 7, 2013 / 5:00 am
There is some exciting news for the Okanagan as Total Home Solutions has partnered up with FortisBC to expand the popular Energy Diet Program to service the Okanagan. This program has been very successful in both Rossland and the Kootenays in educating homeowners about the energy efficiency of their homes. The official launch date of the program is September 9, 2013 and homeowners wishing to participate will have until the end of December 2013 to have their initial evaluation completed.
There are scheduled “ener-ventions” (information sessions) throughout the region for homeowners looking for more information on the process or who would like to sign up to reduce their home’s energy use and save money on their utility bills.
Participants in the Okanagan Energy Diet will be receiving their initial energy assessment at a discounted rate. These participants will also be receiving energy saving products installed directly in their home which includes outlet insulation, a low flow shower head and kitchen tap aerators. Your Total Home Solutions Energy Evaluator will assist in applying for up to $6000 worth of rebates.
Homeowners/participants will also be interested to know that, if eligible, there are financing options available to make energy-efficient improvements to their home. As a bonus, FortisBC PowerSense will be giving the community who saves the most energy a $5000 bonus for an energy-efficient upgrade to a public facility.
FortisBC PowerSense, Total Home Solutions and the regions within the Okanagan eligible for this Energy Diet Program are very excited to launch this program.
